This is the privacy notice for pctzen.com, operated by PctZen ("we", "us"). It covers the information we deal with and the options open to you. Briefly: the numbers you enter are computed locally and never leave your machine.

Which tool this covers

PctZen does one thing — as a percentage calculator it answers percent-of, what-percent, and percent-change questions instantly, with a discount and tip mode. It picks the right rearrangement of the percentage relationship for the question you ask — part over whole, or the difference over the original — so the same tool covers a markup and a discount without the sign confusion. What follows concerns only that tool and the inputs involved in it.

Everything the tool works with — the numbers you enter — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like checking a percentage change between two figures, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.

Data you give the tool

All processing happens on your device. Your input is handed to the page's own script, a result comes back, and that is the whole exchange. No request leaves your machine, and no copy of what you entered exists once the tab is closed.

The rights you have

You may have statutory rights over personal data — to access, amend, erase or object to its processing, depending on your jurisdiction. You can exercise them by writing to us; in most cases there will be no stored data to act on.

Our host and any analytics we run record routine request data — the kind every web server sees, such as IP address, user agent, referrer and which pages were opened. That data serves maintenance and abuse prevention; it is never combined with the values you enter.

The only cookie we set ourselves is a small preference flag for the consent notice. Advertising is served by third parties, and those partners may place their own cookies to tailor the ads you see. You can refuse or clear them in your browser without losing any functionality — the tool itself has no dependency on cookies.

Analytics and aggregate statistics

Usage statistics, when collected, are anonymous and aggregated. They tell us which pages are useful; they do not identify you and they never include your input to the calculator.

Your entries live only in the browser tab. There is no server-side record to be lost, so closing the page is the end of them.

How long data is kept, and how it is protected

There is nothing of yours to keep, so there is no retention period to describe for calculator input: it exists only in your browser tab and disappears when you leave. The site is served over HTTPS throughout.

Children's privacy

The site is not designed for, or marketed to, children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
